Rally for the Reading Viaduct Rail Park

Saturday, September 14 2013 5:00 PM 11:00 PM EST

Callowhill Neighborhood Association and Friends of The Rail Park invite you to join us on September 14th for an evening of great food and tons of live entertainment alongside the Viaduct. Why? Because Phase 1 of the long-awaited Reading Viaduct Rail Park will soon be underway — and we need your support! The quarter-mile portion of the former railway spanning from Broad Street at Noble, rising up to the elevated Viaduct, and extending to Callowhill Street is now slated for construction in 2014.

The fundraiser will kick off with a Sunset Dinner for Supporters: a pig roast and pizzas catered by Pasquarello’s Thirteenth Street Kitchens [AKA Cafe Lift, Prohibition Taproom and Bufad] and beer provided by Yards Brewing Company. Entertainment will include Philadelphia Fringe Festival theater performances, comedy, live music and multimedia installations throughout the evening. When night falls, the food trucks will roll in, and the After-Party for Friends will begin: tunes from DJ Lucky 7 and Maggie's Rooftop Aerial, fire dancers and dancing after dark. Plus, silkscreened t-shirts by Pop Up Printing!

All proceeds from ticket sales, beer & wine sales and silkscreened t-shirts will go directly towards funding the first phase of the Reading Viaduct Rail Park. See below for more details, and stay tuned for the full schedule of events.
